9ème Lègére

1788 -1815

The French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars

Founded in 1978, the Neuvième Légère is an Independent, international "Living History" and "Battle Re-enactment" group, which recreates a company of the 9th French Light Infantry Regiment between the period 1788 - 1815 (The French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars).  Their members cover a wide range of nationalities, ages, backgrounds and interests. Although created in the UK, they also have "escoudes" (squads) in Germany, Italy and Luxembourg. The total number of members is 60+, which makes them one of the largest re-enacted historical regiments in Europe.  They pride themselves on having high standards of drill, uniform and period "lifestyle" and the 9e have an International reputation for quality.  All escoudes wear the same uniform, do the same drill and have a common interest in the period.

(Drill commands are always in French, but English is the "common" language).
