La Columna is a UK based re-enactment group commemorating and celebrating the international volunteers who went to fight alongside the Spanish people in defence of the Second Republic in the Spanish Civil War 1936 - 1939.
This group use Living History techniques to present life on the front line for the men and women of the revolutionary militias and the International Brigades. La Columna was formed in 2000 by a core of experianced re-enactors from other historical periods with a shared interest in the history of the Spanish Civil War.
La Columna has two roles to present, one as a company of the British Battalion of the XVth International Brigade and the other of a mainly international section of one of the revolutionary militias.
