The 'DESERT RATS' Living history display aims to depict the British Soldier who fought in North Africa between 1940 and 43,prior to our troops landing at Normandy. Their aim is to portray the harsh living conditions and hardships experienced by the soldiers in battle, We also have undoubtedly the best 'Look-a-like' Monty in the country who will be inspecting the troops and giving rousing speeches throughout the day, The second part of the display concerntrates on the current war in Iraq and the 1991 conflict and the contrast in clothing and equipment between the current conflict and that of WW2 is fascinating.
The members of the display are all committed and knowledgeable on their subject, and very willing to give true accounts of desert life.
